Hi All, Couple quick questions... RE 2009 HRC Blade, 10,000 miles. First - Taking off the rider seat. I know the plastic finishers under the seat have to come off first, but never done them before so not sure what direction they come out? Can someone explain the best way to get these fillers off so I can remove the seat when I need to?? Second - 2009 Blade clutch vibrates a little and a bit of rattle, stops when clutch is pulled in. Actually it stops as soon as I pull in the clutch by just 1cm... I knwo it should be nothing to worry about, some say clutch basket in another thread, but maybe just the clutch cable needs adjusting a bit?? Anyone else's clutch rattles a bit but then pull it in and it is quiet?? I just wish it was that quiet all the time really... Had similar with my old CBR600, but I didn't when I sold it. Maybe it really is just the clutch cable?? Thanks for your ideas and inputs... J.
On the plastic trims just tug the thin bit which is on a rubber grommit and the thick end has two lugs which you just carefully rotate the whole piece and it comes out. Can't say about the vibes
I take it that you lot have the same clutch "noise" then... Cluch works fine, no slipping, no dragging, just that vibrating rattle (not very loud but still there) If some of you have the same thing then I feel it is tolerable...
I dont know of a honda inline 4 that dosn't have clutch noises. as long as the noise goes when you pull the clutch in all will be well.
Mines got the rattle to ... Has from mile 1 As for the seat off, watch the video in the video section for installing a powercommander ... shows you there! ETA - http://1000rr.co.uk/media.php?do=details&mid=19
The primary drive has a split gear early blades on the clutch basket later blades on the crankshaft this acts like a shock absorber to smoothen the drive instead of direct metal to metal contact. Unofficial report on the " rumble "suggested the gear flexes when on load and disappears when the clutch is disengaged which in imo is bs cause the gear meshing is still engaged whether on load or not. Most reports have stemed after a few thousand miles never from new. Have modified five clutches with sucess not enough to suggest it was a cure the owners however were happy.
Thanks everyone for replies so far. Guess it is "normal" then. Good to know. If it does get worse though, I may just ask Masterblader for some advice or help. Cheers guys!!
