Decided on a last minute run to the lakes with Giv today… stopped off at Whitehaven for a bit of lunch via the A590….. good road. Then onto Windermere, stopping off at Lakeside national park for a coffee and a chat.. nice place with good views.

We Decided we didn't want to go via the M6 back home, so i punched in "winding roads, medium" on the sat nav. It took us through some country lanes with sheep coming down the roads (fell foot brow) , then onto some fantastic roads... A5074 and the A6070 and a half hour of an other A roads .. Twisty, with hairpins, fast straights and corners, 2 jumps over hump-back bridges which we both got 2 wheeled air over… ACE! hahaha… Cracking run out. It had the lot.

Will be definitely exploring these again!

    349 miles all told.

sounds like a great day out.
I'm gutted when I read these.. there are some good roads down here in East Anglia but there a bit more scarce than they are up your way! I need to move north.
