Well we are on quite a tight schedule, we have two weeks, but we're having three days on Crete (in a very posh hotel) to attend a wedding, so we may be a tad tired the time we get to the 'Ring' on the way back. I'll be sure to put a report in with a few photo's of the roads in Albania!

We will have long and short days, some 600mile and some 200mile we have arranged the short days in the less developed countries, we also have an extra week off work for contingencies... Hijack Etc. The map's not quite correct (couldn't put ferries in) so actually we leave Italy at Ancona to Patra Greece then bike along the Gulf of Corinth for the ferry at Athens, to Crete. so that takes a few miles off. We expect to do approx. 4000 miles all told. Ending at Amsterdam for the ferry to North Shields (only four miles home) so we may partake in a small sweet sherry in celebration on the boat!

    A .. Whitley Bay
    B… Folkstone
    C… Tourneham-sur-le-Hem FR
    D… Intrelaken Swiss
    E… Ancona Italy
    F,,, Patra Greece
    G… Piraes
    H… Herakilion Crete
    I… Durres Albania
    J… Split Croatia
    K… Tireste Italy
    L… Cheb CZ
    M… The ‘Ring’
    N… Ijmuden Nl
    … Ferry Home. Sherry.

Hi Chaps, Well I have to say 'I feel a bit of a fraud'. I had every intention of doing the trip to Crete on my blade. unfortunately insurance companies had a different view, I was unable (at the last minute) to get Green card insurance, Needed for Albania, Montenegro, and Bosnia. So I had to take my other bike BMW R100Rt, not quite in the same league, being twenty five years old with a whole sixty horses on tap. So this will have to go down to experience, Anyway it was an epic trip but I think the details are for another forum 'BM old buggers' or something of the kind. The members here rightly want to know about Blades. If anyone gets the chance of riding from Patra in Greece up the coast to Austria just do it, I was one of the 'Times of my Life'. Mike.
