Hi, I just had my 2006 custom mapped. Bike went in with the following:
    Flapper Mod,
    PAIR system blanked,
Akrapovic Endcan( no baffel), K&N air filter,
    Power Commander 3,
    O2 eliminator,
Dynojet European model 02 eliminator Acropovic endcan map download installed.

Initial run gave 146.34 bhp and 77.25 lb-ft torque.
After custom tuning 157.66 bhp and 80.97 lb-ft torque.
Bike feels much better below 3k revs around town as the tuner said it was very rich down low before.
Are these normal figures/gains from a custom map?
image.jpeg I wasn't chasing numbers but am now happy with a very smooth bike that wants to lift its front end a lot more than before.

That's a decent result. My rr4 had flapper removed, K&n filters, arrow system and a bazzaz zfi .Got 156 at the wheel :) so they seem pretty even!

Cheers for the comment. Biggest improvement below 3500 revs I found was blanking the PAIR system.

Oh really? Didn't think pair made such a big difference.

Bike was on 10k miles at the time also replaced the plugs when I was in there so that might have made a difference. But before plugs and PAIR blanking the bike was dead below 3k revs ( flapper mod and no exhaust valve) no response to throttle input and had to sit in 3rd gear around town. Bike picked up ok after PAIR blanking and plugs replaced. Custom map improved a blip in power around 3k revs. I don't understand it but in the real world it made the bike smoother.

I also only blanked the PAIR system to make things easier for the custom map as I had read that it made no difference to power. Less pops from the exhaust now but when hot it will give a bang now and then. The garage is also more toxic if you fire it up in there

About the same mods as my 06 except that I have a set of US downpipes that don't have the square section where the cat would normally sit , dyno at the rear wheel was 163 , smooth as silk . Rides even better now I, ve got a 55 degree throttle .....Oh and not that it matters but I completely gutted the flap out of the air box

Full new headers for maybe 2bhp then another £180 to map it again?
I have only spent £60 for a K@N filter £84 for a used powercommander £180 on a custom map. Bike came with the Akrapovic can and link pipe fitted. I think to spend that much cash on new headers or the hassle of getting it cut out for such small gains doesn't make sense.

Most people set to it with a hammer n chisel with the link pipe removed , some say it comes out fairly easy.
