any recommendation for hairy ears :)rolleyes:)

I have only used EAR disposable ones. They work fine but cut out too much of the noise/ sound(39dB!) but provide good air pressure buffeting protection for my ears.

I was wondering how good the custome made ones are in terms of air pressure buffeting

I’ve been using them for a good five years now and find them much better and for longer.
I find the ones I have now from ultimate ear are the best I’ve tried as they use a dual silicone, so a softer compound on the bit that goes into the ear canal.
They cut out a lot of the wind noise but let you still hear the exhaust buy cutting out the harmful frequencies.

Cheaper option 3m foam earplugs certainly better than some of the 'purpose ' bike plugs.

I'm tempted by these... my current "Bollsens" plugs are crap.
But at £100 inc the moulding, is it really really worth it?
How long do they last you?

Another vote for ultimate ears. I've had 3 pairs in 15 years and I only got the last pair this year so they easily last 6+ years.

If you wait until they are at a bike show you can get the moulds done for free.

go to any bike show and you get the moulds taken free, and they’ll more than likely give you 10% if you ask? they will last at least 2 years as your inner ear changes shape very 2 or so years.

I bought moulded ear plugs, when I first started wearing them after 20 mins my ears were sore. I placed the discomfort down to a hard silicone compound. I reverted back to disposable plugs. I might of been unlucky with the moulding, but they are not for me.

    thanks for the feedbacks.
I called the company, the woman I spoke to was no rider and had zero experience of the product real world performance past the info on their website.

Guessing their cost is £10 or less & selling it @ £70+,they should emply a better pre sale enquiry person!

For now, I will carry on with my disposable ones, may try the decibullz @£30

that's good feedback on pinlock's. I'll check them out since they have 3 stage seal.
I tried the mushroom cup style but did't get on with the the central attenuator sticking out.
I considered these but decided against the as I don't know how hard the mould is:

I still use the 3M ear disposables.

HOWEVER - if you put your used ones in a wash bag and throw them in the washing a machine, they come out (almost) like new. I’ve been trying this for the past couple weeks and so far, so good.

(Before you ask, no I’m not a Yorkshireman :D)
