I'm a little on the short side (5'6") so I cut some of the foam out of my seat today to bring my arse closer to the road when standing still. It was pretty easy to do - seat off, remove staples, cut lots of shallow strips of foam off the bottom with bread knife, put the cover back on and staple it in place (£7.49 light duty stapler from Robert Dyas) I get a little more foot on the floor now (only a little) but my bum also feels more planted on it because I cut out more from the middle to take some of the roundness out the top. I shaved a little off the top side at the front on both sides too where my thighs meet the edges - only a little as there's not much to play with there. The seat looks perfectly normal afterwards. I cut out far more than in this photo by the time I'd finished but this was the last photo I took (due to finger cut injuries!) Yes, the red spots are my blood - my bike's got my DNA in it now for identification purposes I did the exhaust flapper mod afterwards too. It actually sounds like a sports bike at low speed/stationary now.
