Need to cut some holes about 30mm in diameter in some carbon fibre frame covers and was wondering if anybody had any experience in cutting carbon fibre and had any tips ?

Is it possible ? do you get frayed edges or threads of carbon showing ? do you need to re laquer ?

    All help and comment welcome.

    Cheers

Well try not to breath in the dust (not healthy) and I would cut it slightly smaller than you want then use emery/sand paper to smooth the edges .

Thats what I do anyway ...

Cheers for all the tips guys.

I was planning on cutting smaller so if I make a mistake I can hopefully clean it up and thanks for the tip on using emery to get neat edges.

I have bought a fret saw so hopefully should be able to cut it out pretty neat and just dress up the edges.

I will let you know how I get on, cheers again.
