Hey guys, I have a Datatool alarm on my RR7 - usually it works fine but sometimes its a pain in the ass...

Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to turning off the alarm? Sometimes if I do not click the button properly and do not disarm the alarm, it goes off but it takes me ages to turn it off.

There are two buttons on it grey and black. I only use the grey to disarm, it arms automatically after 30 seconds with a sound like a bomb going off!

Are there any tricks about this that I need to know?
    Thanks

If you do not start the bike after you disarm, the alarm automatically re-arms with a series of beeps. Not sure if this is applicable to yours (depends on model of dataw*nk) but if you arm it (grey button) then press the black button within 10 seconds, it turns the nudge/movement sensors off.
You can disarm completely (winter mode) say if its parked up in your garage by turning ignition fully on and pressing both buttons together for 10 seconds until you hear a long continuous beep, just remember if you have disarmed it fully as soon as you put keys back into ignition, alarm will go off if you don't press the grey button within 5 seconds!!
Alarm is a royal pain in the a$$!!!

So when the alarm goes off, how do you disarm it?

Usually with another press of the grey button.

And yes you often have to ask if the f****rs are worth having.

Thanks lads. I did not know they are so badly thought of. I know I have HISS but still its nice to have some extra protection. Especially since my last bike was stolen from my apartment carpark... Even the tilt sensor can be a preventitative measure.

So I cant believe it but I actually lost my alarm fob yesterday. It must have fallen out of my pocket. I have a spare thankfully. I was advised when buying it to keep the alarm fob separate from the bike key. They said it can get damaged or wet etc if just sitting in the ignition. Is this true?
