Same as last winter, as soon as the weather turns cold, the motion sensor is super sensitive. Slightest touch sets the warning bleeps off, then full alarm without much more provocation.

Spoke to a couple of dealers who fit them and they believe its sensitive to voltage, and the colder weather impacts this. Maybe right, maybe wrong, mine does it even when its been on the Optimate overnight,
As soon as the temps go back up no issue.

My thoughts is that it is more to do with the famous ball bearing in the fluid chamber being affected by temperature than voltage.

    Anyone else had this issue?

    Datatool S4 C221 system.

My thoughts are that if it were fluid\temperature related the fluid would thicken in the cold and a ballbearing would be less inclined to move through it. This would surely make it less sensitive.

Yep agreed, and that could be the issue, the ball is not settling where its designed to sit and out of place in the thicker fluid...all guess work I know, seems a long shot but maybe I am putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with my preferred number

    Found this on the www

There are a range of things you can configure in the Engineer Software Switches including:

Tone on arm/disarm (set to off by default)
    Movement sensor sensitivity (default=3degs, options are 2, 3, 4 or 5 degs)
Shock sensor sensitivity (10 settings, default=8)
Nudge sensor behaviour (various options - see the manual)
    etc

Health Warning: Configuring the Datatool S4 alarm system is a fiddly procedure which I wouldn't recommend if you are not good at following convoluted instructions to the letter.

To Enter Switch 3 - Engineer Software Switches

Go through the process described in the User Guide to enter the Software Switches and then:

    1. Navigate to Switch 3 by pressing the GREY button until 3 beeps are heard
    2. Press both buttons of the remote (3 fast beeps will be heard)
    3. press the grey button (a beep will be heard)
    4. press both buttons (a beep will be heard)
    5. press the black button (a lower tone beep will be heard)

You are now in the engineer’s software switches.

The process of moving around, selecting the software switch and changing the settings is the same as switches 1 (siren tone) and 2 (passive/full arming) with each software switch being indicated by the number of lower tone beeps heard.

Enter the required switch by pressing both button of the remote

Once the desired adjustment has been made, press both buttons of the remote to confirm.

Once configuration is complete, exit by switching off the ignition.
