Hi, never used this site before, so hopefully I'm using the right section. I have a Scorpion "stubby" slip on that was fitted from new on my 2010 RR. It does sound good, but now I want more noise (and hopefully a bit more power). As money is tight, I was thinking that if I remove the cat, that would do the trick. Question is; what do I do? What do I have to buy? Is it easy to do myself?
    Cheers

    Hi Mark

Do a Search using my username (JimGreen).

I did exactly what your talking about, but on a standard exhaust system and it's fantastic and gives a decent power increase.

Here's just one link, but I'm sure there's more. You could always go down this route using the original exhaust.

    Thanks

Thanks Jim, checked out the link u sent, brilliant idea, but I dont think I alone would be able to remove the insides of the cat. From the pictures it looks like they have been cut out and then the casing welded closed.
Did you bike still ride the same with out a power comander?

    Cheers

I have a power commander V fitted and had it mapped by Crescent Suzuki. But amazingly it didn't need much adjustments, but produced increased torque and bhp figures.

If you haven't got the original end can on then the cat is already removed, as the cat is located in that

Is there a baffle in the scorpion end can?

Hi, Maybe the 2010 Blade is different, but if I look under my bike I can see where the header-pipe clamps onto a large(ish) silver "silencer box", which I assume is my cat, this then has my Scorpion slipped on the other end. I took the baffle out of the end can myself. I have the original exhaust in my shed, but have never looked at it, so I'll look at it in morning to see what it comprises of. I have heard other Blades with out a cat, and they sound a lot louder and "barkier" than mine?
Cheers for the info so far.

Right, Thanks for your help guys. I now realize that the cat is part of the original end can, so mine has been removed when Scorpion slip on was fitted when new. So the silver box under the bike between header pipe and end can is what I want gone! Guess this is some sort of silencer. Do you guys know if I can get a cheap pipe that can replace this box?
    cheers

UPDATE: My knowledge of my bikes exhaust is obviously limited! The silver box under my bike between the header pipes and slip on is Scorpions primary silencer! I recon with this off it would really sound awesome. But how?
