Hi there, So I'm pretty mad right now. I took my bike to get valves checked by a mechanic, I picked up the bike back up. After riding the bike for a few days, I run out of fuel - no warning light. I took the bike back to the mechanic, now they are telling me the sensor is broken and I have to swap out the whole fuel pump for it, which is around 1k euros. I told them the bike didn't have this problem before them touching it, and all I got back is "How can you prove it?". Any thoughts on what I can do on this situation? I'm actually lost on words. I have no problem outing this place, even thought it's not in the UK but the netherlands, Motoport Amsterdam.
Difficult, my my knee jerk reaction there would have been to say can they prove that they didn't brake it? In either case I would be telling them that all my friends knew it worked and I've never ran out before as the light came on to warn me. Then follow that up with a solicitors letter warning them of court action and increased costs if they don't fix it.
Yeah contacted my solicitor about it, will send them a letter most likely. Also the 1000 euro estimate is mind boggling, any idea which part or assembly would be this much? I looked up fuel pumps on ebay for cbr 1000 rr and they are all around 100 euro. Will bring to another garage, maybe they can find something better that won't cost "1000 euro"
Another great service after I picked it up today after them checking problems with my fuel pump, my rpm no longer goes above 6.5k when riding and they have no idea why! Truly a gift that keeps on giving
They sound like a great outfit... Sorry for your issues, better get back onto that solicitor and add this to the list
They had another look and finally found out the injectors were not connected properly, so that issue is sorted as it seems. Still what an experience, gave them 1 star with a nice explanation and will be going to another garage have them check the bike for the fuel indicator again.
