    Hello

Been a dick and lost the key, short of getting a grinder to grind it off is it possible to use a hammer and a screwdriver?

    Any suggestions welcome

Grinder should do it, but them bits of hot metal flying all over Brett, have you not had a price from a locksmith? Insurance covers lost keys too?

Wunt have thought so if its a decent lock. Even a grinder should be difficult. Locksmith best bet. Cheaper than a new disc if ya slip with grinder.

had next door neighbout grind one off on a previous bike, took 5 minutes. I just covered up the plastics and away we went. No damage job done lol ! It was Luma lock aswell Thatcham approved.

Better than paying for a locksmith I guess. Just wondered if a screwdriver was an option - sure I have people doing it before.

Video it and put it in the how secure is your bike thread. Guess there could be a few worried peeps watching you disasemble a bike lock in five minutes

This is an interesting one. I'm just about to start looking around for a couple of new disc locks. I always seen them as a relatively cheap, transportable piece of security, and surprised to hear they are that easy to remove. Anyone recommend decent disc locks? alarmed examples any good?

    Hola Mike
I have an Oxford alarmed one which comes in a soft bag that fits nicely under the rear seat cowl when not in use and makes a right racket when it goes off. No idea how well it would withstand an angle grinder, not much by the sound of Movie’s post but with all these things they are only a deterrent, if they want it, it will be gone before you know it.

I went for one of these Grip-Locks instead of a disc lock. At least I can't forget to take it off before pulling away
