After meeting Robin and Mark yesterday I have decided I want to start racing not expecting to win but to experience it. I have just read on no limits website its going to get harder to get the licence. At the moment its just a day in the class room for £30 but if you don't get your application in by the end of this month it is classroom and track time to get it meaning more expensive .

They have dates on the 15th at donnington and 16th at oulton I can't do the 16th as I am doing a trackday at oulton so looking at the 15th, going to ring no limits today just to check if there are anymore courses.

Will post anymore info I get .

Anyone else thinking of it ?

Can you not race with no limits on a 1000cc as I wouldn't mind doing the endurance Racing was chatting to cookie a mate of Andys about that.

I don't want to do club racing and fancy Racing with No Limits I know with the endurance only 1 of the 3 racing only needs to have a license.

Really couldn't justify buying another bike so would prefer to use my blade, I have no idea about racing so will ring no limits today to get more info.

Nice one Jason, good on you for doing it. I was going to put a post up on here about the new changes, but you have beaten me to it. You will have an epic time racing. Keep us posted on it.

It's long winded mate but worth it it's £43 for the test but make sure you do it after December 31st as it runs annually and you will have to pay again

Mine was 45 with no limits
    Then 43 for the ACU
Then 35 to join hottrax racing series

Also get online boots are doing £10 eye tests I think . You need 6/6 (20/20) with or without glasses contacts etc ..

The ACU test is easy bud don't panic like I did all the answers are really explained in the briefing before so take notes of everything really and it's multiple choice questions

Cheers wedgie I take it you mean don't get the ACU license till after 31st Dec as I need to do the course before the end of this month or the price goes up as there is more you need to do including track time.

What's an example question that will be asked as I hate tests.

You will get asked things like "what is used to denote the start of a race?" or "how old do you have to be before you don't need legal consent to race?"
When I did my test, they made sure that you made note of the "points that would be very very useful later on". You won't fail it and I think that they don't let you go home until everybody has passed the test.

You will be fine with it, take a pen and paper, make notes and all will be good. Glad that you have decided to give it a go, this is where the fun really starts. The bank manager won't really think so, but you will!

Ha ha I am not the fittest person but it gives me a very good reason to get fit over winter.

Will see how I cope doing 3 days at Jerez in November .

nothing wrong with a 1000 buddy, however most folk say go with a 600 (inc Robin) as there is more of a spectrum of ability to race against and cost affective, but thats more club racing im guessing.

seen the no limits cup, great way to get into it, as aimed at low budget (less rounds) / more novice route in so the 1000cc shouldnt be a problem.

awesome news thought mate - fair play.

edit - looking at their site - now 7 rounds for 2014 ;)

Yeah do the course and your pass is valid for 12 months then send off for the 2014 ACU license after Dec 31st or you will pay £43 for 2 months .

That must be the new requirements but certainly up until the end of October it's just the classroom you need to do to get the Acu licence.I must admit you would think to race you would have to do it the way the new requirements are which is the reason they have introduced them I guess .For me I will do the easy route.:D

So just had my eye test done and passed with flying colours 6/5 which is very good so I am told . So I might be a bit old to start racing but at least when I come last I can't blame my eye sight. :D
