Confuzzled quiet day 98db loud day 105db?? Is this not direct under a busy flight patch why such tight restrictions.
surprises me when i hear noise restrictions at race circuits, when if u stand by the side of any main A road in the UK uhear all manner of boy racers and theyre overly loud exhausts !!!! and surely why wud u move and LIVE nxt to / nearby a race circuit if u dont like the sound of motorised vehicles????
It's shite my work contract has been delayed so I am sat at home for two weeks on full pay tempted to do a few track days was thinking about a early start at Donington as I fancy a change from the norm (Caddy) but S1000RR blows 100db now so only eligible for noisey day. YAWNNN
Sounds daft but how do they measure the noise, obviously with a sound meter but at what rpm, how close to bike etc etc. I've just measured my yoshimura rs5 end can with stock pipes and cat and its coming up between 81 and 90db. It sounds much much louder to me.
donnigton dont do static tests, they have meters around the track (think 3 in total),and if you trigger it,then they black flag you. whe you say measured,at what distance, what rpm? at oulton for a thou it's 5.5k
I measured about a meter away at same height as exhaust and just off to the right. I measured between 4k and 7k.
That reminds me, there's an App for this on the iPhone. I must compare this to the 101db reading that i made at Cadwell.
little Donny tip.....stay far right hand side of pit straight until you get past pit entry onto track..... they measure you on a fly by there so as long as you are just about there on db levels you should be ok......
Or change up a gear as you approach the measuring points Mine's a G-Force on the Triumph TT600 BTW, but i dont know if you meant me.
Only a static test at cadwell, but i could track down an appropriate sized baffle insert for mine as its got mounting holes in the tail pipe.
The focussed boys will be looking for a insert..... if they see nowt you ll be pulled up before you get out.... is it a focussed or no limits day ?
