Tempted to book this as its an ace track - 4 groups can be frustrating if you get folk red flagging sessions esp. on a long track like Donny but its ace value for a weekend. Donington Park | 08 March 2014 | Focused Events Booked Alblade
Booked it - price gone up to £75 now as it was on circuit saver The clincher for me was almost total lack of weekend Donny days with any operator - my mate who I normally travel with is self employed contractor so a day mid week = day of lost wages hence why I look for weekend dates.
Looking forward to this in the morning - weather forecast is really good too . Just hope with the 15min sessions (running 4 groups) the day runs to time - using 'The Fridge' aka my Gixer 750 which goes well round there
Rules most Bikes out with a 98db limit! Loads of feckers will have missed that and will turn up having paid and get refused circuit time!
All the paperwork makes it very clear: ITINERARY FOR DONINGTON PARK GP CIRCUIT 98db 4 GROUP SPECIAL NOTE! Please be aware. ALL MOTORCYCLES MUST HAVE EITHER A ROAD SILENCER OR A DB KILLER FITTED. WITHOUT THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON TO THE CIRCUIT! Dear customer You are booked onto our forthcoming Donington Park event. As you will be aware when you made the booking this is a 98db event. We are working closely with Donington Park who are under immense pressure from the local Council and residents to have the circuit placed under very restrictive activity regulations. Of course we are all aware that Donington Park has been there for 10’s of years, and is at the heart of British motorsport history, but it is a sad reflection on some parties who move into locations, well aware of local attractions, and then bring pressure to bear to change the historical situation. However these people have decided to ignore the other local attraction......A live and in use International Airport, just around the corner. So moving towards the future, its most important for us all and motorcycle sport at Donington Park, and indeed across the whole of the UK, that we ensure that these pressure groups do not manage to force the implementation of further restrictions that could gain momentum at Donington Park or other Race venues. Therefore on 98db days at Donington Park, motorcycles must either have a road silencer or a baffle fitted if it’s an after market system. All machines taking part will be checked as they come down the pit lane. If your machine doesn’t meet the criteria then you will not be allowed to enter the circuit and take part. I’m sure you will agree if we all work in a constructive manner that we will safeguard our sport track days and motorcycling at this historical circuit, that has already faced dramatic challenges in the last 10 years. Was a good day - got 4 sessions in of 20 mins each even though 4 groups being run. Unfortunately 3 of the sessions encountered red flags Race / track bikes were in the majority and was not aware of any bikes having noise issues - remember at Donny its drive by not static test It's an ace track and I even got my knee down! May have some footage but to be honest nothing earth shattering took place in front of me to show
