Was leaving squires earlier on, came through the bridge and was pressing on a bit when a car infront of me suddenly slams on to turn left. So I had to do a full on emergency stop so as not to go flying up his arse. I know I was on cold tyres but the whole bike fishtailed very badly, it was squirming pretty much as soon as I hit the brake lever. Just managed to miss the car and carried on as usual. I know the bike does it once you get to <10mph because then its no longer brake by wire, but from high speed the bike really shouldn't do this???

Once did it on an R1 overtaking to fast and coming onto a roundabout must have lifted about 3 inch but have to say I enjoyed it .

Lol! I think if I was a less experienced rider I'd of had to of changed my shorts :p Just let it wiggle and sort itself out, but still... I'm sure the ABS (if it did its job properly) would sort that out???

I've got ABS Tyke and have to say I wouldn't like to put it to the test .Getting that cheesed about what may happen or the cost of the two year service thinking about getting rid and as such getting rid of the problem.

ABS only works effectively when it has a reference point.

This reference point is the back wheel speed so if the back wheel lifts off the deck then it has little to gauge against bar a full lock up.

The system will try and keep the back wheel on the deck so it knows 'where it's at', putting it basically. which is why ya canna do 'Stoppies' on an ABS Blade and also why it fishtales slightly as the ABS is constantly putting the back wheel back down as it tries to lift in an emergency stop situation.

Just had a look on your album pics and im certain it does not have abs.

ABS models have gold callipers not black and i cant see any speed sensors on the inside of the front disc,
on abs models the undertray hangs down much lower aswell. do a quick image search on google

The non abs brakes work just fine dude!!! No reason not to trust them....

But I'd be having words with the dealer mate if he sold the bike as abs

That's really shoddy work from the dealer. I'd also check your insurance is also for a non ABS, you dont want them to squirm out of a claim on a technicality.

From what I've read YT you've landed lucky. Better off with a non ABS and you've proved to yourself that you've got the skill to deal with the emergency situation anyway. You've now got an opportunity to go back to the dealer and score done goodies by way if compensation for his negligence.
I'm a cup half full kind of guy tho.
