Ive owned my repsol ABS for a fair few weeks now and I keep getting the same problem. If I set off for work then stop for fuel. The bike struggles/refuses to start. I can cure it by turning it all off and then trying again with a little throttle twist if necessary. but it doesnt stop the frustration of my 12 plate not starting on a garage forecourt! any help info or suggestions would be great.
Hmmm i had a similar starting problem with my ex-bike (an R6) & it turned out to be dirty plugs. So maybe give that a go?
do you know, Thats what i thought it was going to be, where the plugs foul when you turn off. Im going to pull the plugs and check the colour before trekking to the dealers i bought from (70 mile away)
Do you know what a hassle that is!!! Brand new bike with a problem = instantly back to the dealers for them to sort out!!
Tell them it won't start they will have to collect it and deliver it back to you. That's what I did few years ago with a GSXR with faults.
Hmm fair point, I'll see if it does it on next refuel and if it does Ill give them a ring/winge! cheers guys
Dealer is the answer.... no way would i do anything else with a new bike, thats what you pay a price premium for.
A simple check - tighten the battery terminals. My ex RR8 went through a phase of struggling to restart after it had been running fine. I started to think it was plugs and stuff, then one day I had the seat off and decided to check the tightness of the battery terminals. Both were ok but tweaked them up and the bikes starter would spin quicker, and always startedafter that point. Just a quick and free check.
Defo get dealer to sort it, is there not another honda dealer nearer than 70 miles? its covered at any honda dealership.
Neighbour has just had to replace plugs on his 11 plate gixer thou with 3k on he clock so it can happen his sounded ruff as hell when running tho! 3 cylinders ok on a triumph not a zook
