This year, I used 5.1 in both the car & the bikes.
The car spec is dot 3 but 4 was used in the past. I went to toyota for the last change and they use toyota 5.1.
I went with the flow & glad I did so!

The pedal was not only much firmer after the change, but still so 8 months later (dot 3-4 loose their bite over this period).
I also used liquimoly 5.1 (£6) on my bikes and what a difference. The brak lever is so much firmer & more direct, I have had to mentally readjust how much I squeeze it.
Far better performance over motul RBF600 (£12)

I'm on RBF660 myself, but most decent DOT5.1 fluids are good if you avoid the cheap brands.

The rbf660 will have a higher boiling point still to the normal 5.1, so won’t fade as it’s a racing fluid
