Has anyone mounted a drift camera to their blade before
and if you have what way did you do it.
I have to mount one as I have been asked to record a few sections
of local roads for a promotional video.dont really want to use the 3m
pads as I am worried about damaging the paint when it comes time to
    remove it,
    thanks ;)

I have a Drift HD with the plunger mount:

I tried a few places on the fairings but with the plastics being so thin the smallest bump in the road will make the camera judder. The only place I could find was on the flat top of the side fairing (underneath the switchgear) with the camera angled out, forward-facing and flush to the side of the bike. Hard to describe without a picture, though!

A lot of people mount theirs on their lid, which may be the optimal solution although I tend to move my head around quite a bit so would depend on your riding style, I think?

The way to get them off a helmet is with a hairdryer and a credit card, with a bit of WD40 to help on its way. This should work on the plastics although be careful with the hairdryer if near decals.

Zeepony might be the man to ask Phantom.

I believe he uses one occasionally.

yeah I use the helmet mount but for a road guide I wanted it more
stable.I seen them suction mounts but I was worried about them ripping
off in high winds.I might have to make some sort of bracket using the fairing
mount.pity its upside down forks as I had looked at fitting it on the forks.

The sucker is VERY strong. If the seal is good then once the vacuum is created you'll rip the fairing off before you get the sucker to release.

I'd perhaps aire caution to putting a camera anywhere near where the front end compressed under braking etc, not much clearance Between mud guard and nose come IMO.
Top of tank works well for me.

I put mine in the steering yoke stem hole , you can get a sat nav ball type mounting off ebay , you will need a couple of other mounting pieces to go with it though. They are called ram mounts.

I think mounting it on anything unsprung is going to record too much movement no, Phantom?

Do you have crash bungs you can mount it on?

I have a light tint to my screen and a friend took photos through it with a iphone and the pics were fine. Didn't seem to pick up the tint to my untrained eye.
