Dont know if its been said being new to forum, but my mate said he saw on youtube a video of a standerd exhaust being drilled out .So i had a look and there it was now im thinking of having a go at this, as i like the arse end of my blade but like the sound of loud cans .anyone done this what are the down falls to doing this my blade a cbr1000rr6 god i love saying iv got a blade they are great arent they
It has been done by someone on this forum and then he took it a bit further, I can't remember who though.
Yeah, bloody hated the sound afterwards, so i cut it in half, gutted the baffle plate out and took it to powerflow to weld it back together for £30. Sound ok now.
You can drill the can or remove the guts from the cat. A mate did it to his and it flows a lot better now , with a nicer exhaust note. I have an RR4 exhaust if you wanna try it?
Does punching the guts out the exhaust not give a pinking echo sound from the now empty pipe box? I know it does with some cars but never done a bikes exhaust.
My mate, Masterblader, when he comes on here, didn't have any complaints. Or you could cut out the cat and put a bypass pipe in it's place? Or even punch out the centre of the cat and push a by pass pipe through it and weld in place?
Guessin the smaller size of the cat box on the bike might make all the difference too. but was really just curious bout it. cheers
when I did mine I opened mine up, gutted it then put in new perforated pipe and lagging.gave it a nice loud deep note. looked a bit like this one(in the link) when finished only the two tubes joined into one, anyone that can use a welder can have it done in a couple of minutes. 749/999 Exhaust Coring My Experience - Ducati.ms - The Ultimate Ducati Forum
