Like the look of this bike so thought i would go try one out after read some good bits about it, sat on it feels small after the blade, pulled away and each gear up to 3rd everything vibrated and for get about looking in the mirrors unless your doing 20mph. I know its a vtwin and they do vibrate, the faster you went the vibes did die down but not the mirrors lol. Found some nice twistys this is what this bike is meant to be good at?? it was so flighty defo needs a steering damper, the write ups i read said you wont beable to stop it wheeling my blade wheelies better, the other bit said its very torquey i dont see that done 30 odd miles and didnt get out of 4th and most of the time in 3rd, dont no if it was me but found it slow. Couldnt see me parting with £3500 and my blade for this, rode home on the blade was smiling with the power and so easy to overtake and planted on any sort of turn.

They are cracking little bikes. the complete opposite to a blade really which is probably why you didnt like it. the 848 evo's would probably change your opinion :)

I rode the 1st 848 in 2008 loved it and have told people that it was one of the best sportsbikes i have ridden, the 848 SF wasnt at all like the 848 sportsbike for engine braking/torque and speed i was lead to believe it was the same engine 132bhp?? cant remember the 848 sportsbike vibrating like the SF?
I have owned a triumph street triple R and a speed triple on test riding i would have either of those over the 848 SF

Love the little triple R that's nice. Think the 848SF is the new 11 degree motor based on the Multi and Deavel, if it is and I'm 90% sure then it will feel tottaly different, the new valve timing smooths it out big time. :)

They are the sort of bike you have in addition to the Blade, not instead of; you don't compare them then; just enjoy the differences.

I keep looking at the Monster 1100 EVO; that is a seriously cool "other" bike.

    :)

the street triple is a great bike and can be picked up for about £7500 brand new if i could of afforded 2 bikes i would of kept it along side the blade.
The 848 SF does have the new 11 degree engine and slipper clutch so i spose that has lost alot of the engine braking?? Lot of money £10,495 when i can get a brand new 12 model blade for just over that.
Its horses for courses i am sure theres people who dont like the blade on a test ride same as i didnt like the 848.
