Looking at getting some Dymag UltraPro 7 Forged wheels and wondering if anyone has some experience of this particular brand or of forged wheels in general. Apparently there are 2 versions of UP7 a standard version and a lightweight version. The lightweights are approx 1/2 kg lighter per wheel than the standard as they have extra material removed from the rim. They both comply with BS AU 50 road wheel standard but just wondered how tough and durable they are compared with a stock cast rim. The lightweight version sounds a great option but just wondering if they maybe a little fragile for road use. As I say they comply with the correct wheel standard and its probably me just being paranoid and worrying about nothing but any feedback would be most welcome. Cheers !!!!!!!!
Cheers Ben, I have sent Dan a PM but was wondering if some of the racers on hear had any experience of them.
I have a customer with heavily tunned VTR1000Sp1 who has Dymag Carbon Magnesium wheels for more than 8 years now, a hayabusa '02 with cast magnesium Dymags for more that 8 years now. I assure you that those wheels are far more fragile than any cast or forged aluminium wheel in the market! If Dymag sais it's ok for the road I suggest you go and take them. Dymag makes such great wheels for years now. And last but not least, they are made in UK! ...and post some pics!!!
I'm happy I helped mate. I work with aftermarket wheels for years now (PVM Wheels mostly) and I assure you you cant go wrong Dymags... and they make such a difference on the bike!
