Ok I have the dyno session booked in with BSD next Thursday and thought this little competition with Jimbo could have as many rounds as Jimbo can cope with.... So I thought a power/torque round would be be good. You see it's not just about the sound and looks it's also about the performance! So Jimbo have you got a power graph available from your map you can upload to set the benchmark??
dont you just hate a bad looser Tyke..... I dont have one mate, i'm a believer in if it feels right then it is (and with the Leo the blade is running sweet as a nut) dont need a graph to tell me bhp, as power is nothing without control. if however you want to show me your awesome performance, against my control on brands GP in a few weeks, by all means, pop along
So with regards to the power are you going to have a "control of the wrist" round too?? I think that if you two are to have a performance round on track there needs to be a control measure, why not cadwell? Then I can come and play and might actually stand a chance! I can see this becoming a long drawn out war of attrition.
Not for me, I walked away from the sound war satisfied.... And was prepared to leave it there in a gentlemanly manner, the best man won, shake hands and move on.... I can't help it if navvy is a LOOSER!!!!!!!!!
Mate if after the dyno, service, MOT, braided lines and new rubber and weekend away to Amsterdam if there's funds left I'll be there buddy
+1 Jimbo, horses is feck all if it cannot be controlled. Go on Navvy come down to Brands 19th Sept, then you two can have a huddle and settle the score Wagers anybody?
Horses is everything with the blade and I need lots more!! When an R1 can walk out of a corner well ahead of the blade that's not good enough for me, don't wanna be screaming the ar*e off the blade to catch up. Watch a couple of my Snetty vids on track, I've only done 2 track days so hoping to give Jimbo a major run for his money, even on a track I don't know YT please back me again as it appears you are my only friend here
I agree with both of you. But if theres ever to be a showdown it has to be on a track that both of you either dont know or know well. Gimme a year and ill rise to the challenge!!!
Navvy seriously horses is not the right way to go mate.Look my bike is standard apart from an ackro,I've been up against lads on similar bikes with all the toys inc shifters 180+ bhp and I've still managed to pass them. It's about what gear what revs and controlling those revs.In fact I would say more horses mean more input into reining it in.A 600-750 could still walk mine in the right hands.Concentrate more on your riding skills mate.
I think nav is talking more horses cos hes an enthusiast. Know what ya mean sine i was smokin loads of thous on my 750 last friday
I must agree with the above as I am fitting braided lines to help me out brake people into corners and I religiously study tracks, lines, body position etc before attending so I am super prepared in advance. Nothing however can out do a fast R1 that barks and parks it. I love the handling of the blade but it is monster out of the corners by the R1 and all the professional reviews state this so I am just trying to level the playing field a bit. I'm not fussed about wheelies etc I just want to lessen the gap between the S1000rr, R1 and RSV out of the corners. My brakes were seriously discoloured from my last track day working my ar*e off to overtake more powerful bikes.
Its a great feeling knowing you are on less hp and passing dudes on better and faster machinery. It's the same in any sport the more you learn the better you'll be.At Brands I haven't done the GP circuit but I will get passed then I will latch on and learn from the more experienced guy
