Well that's my bike booked in for its map and dyno run .... Phoned the guy yeaterday with the plan for booking in a few weeks ... he kept saying he wasn't taking anything else on before he went away to the Manx .... then he's said ... I could squeeze you in on Monday ... how could I turn that down So let's pray for dry ish weather on Monday fir my 100 mile run Will also get a video of the arrow exhaust throughout the rev range on the dyno ...
Going to highland motorcycle dynos up in the back isle ... he has a great reputation and speaking to him he's very knowledgeable and seemed confident in what he can do Not the cheapest or the closest to me but reputation says it all Yeah it's being mapped aswell
my mate got his zx6r mapped there in may before euro track day couldnt rate him higher! think he was £150 for a map which is better than eccosse I'm sure he does alot of race bikes?! I was speakin Bob Scott racing at glen rothes the other day about bazzaz? Still unsure to go PC5 or bazzaz tho?
I'm £170 ... Ecosse is slowly building a good reputation in Mapping but dynojet themselves recommended Chap @ HMD ... Plus a friend of a friend who races says he is where they all go! Just speaking to him he appeared a load more confident than the guy at Ecosse Which is cheaper and why are you undecided? You'll never use all the features of either ... LOL
bazzaz is better value(cheaer) for money and give better set up according to the the guy bob as it controls all 8 injectors! He is a dealer for both pcv and bazzaz but suggests bazzaz and it whats fitted to there race bikes? Would only be going for the basic one as wouldn't need the traction control! although quick shift is tempting but not really needed for the road! I think it was £550 fitted and mapped with quick shifter where as eccose quoted over £600 for pcv fitted and mapped! Be interesting to see what results you get on monady! what al mod you done?
I've got a PCV it's the stock box so it doesn't do all 8 injectors (but can) I'm sure there was a thread on here about people moving away from Bazzaz .... or maybe it was the other way round! Buy a second hand PCV and fit it yourself ... it is really easy!! While you have the bike in bits pop the flappers out the intake or at least disconnect and plug the vac hoses! I'm sure i've read on here in the past that the power commander quick shifter isn't all that good tho!
Make sure your PAIR valves (if applicable) are blocked off on the dyno run otherwise overly rich mapping will be done... There was a thread about it on here... Somewhere... EDIT - Here ya go... http://1000rr.co.uk/mods-upgrades-accessories-products/5042.htm
I've also read the Power Commander quick shifter isn't that good. As an owner of one, I can't talk up the HM+ quick shifter enough
Well after my day at HMD I can't recommend Chap enough!! Knowledgeable, skilled, he listened and explained when needed ... sat and watched him map the bike from stutterey low down to a buttery smooth bike with a little more BHP but is a load more rideable Got a short video uploading now of the arrow GP2 (mid map) going through the full rev range fir those interested ... will post a link once it's finished uploading
Big question - what was the power?? Would love to arrange a forum 'power league' but think you need to all go to same place, same time to be fair to all My blade with nothing but a K&N and an akropovich end can is 174 at rear wheel
The highest reading during the day was 168.something .... However the final run was only 164 because he'd done loads of little runs prior to map the low down rpm and it brought all the temps up .. and made the rear tyre all soft and squiddgy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4ezjEyssdo
I'm so impressed with the bike now ... to be honest the power means heehaw to me the smooth power delivery is so nice
