You will need EITHER a SFM (secondary fuel module) an ignition module OR a QEM (quickshifter expansion module) I have a QEM OK but no SFM or Ign Mod. QEM would be £70. Push shifter £as quoted
A QEM? Very simple. Follow the instructions. Make sure it's the newer type which uses the 'normally open shifter' and off you go. It's a 1/2 hour job but only because you have to life the tank to access the upper injectors.
QEM does not plug into coild it plugs into secondary injectors. http://www.powercommander.com/downloads/16-002/install/qem/engQEM10.03.pdf
Ok Dynojet sort of messed up when the made the QEM. Depending on its age it may be an early normally closed type. That means the shifter it needs will allow current to flow in its rest state. So get a meter and check the shifter is it open or closed. Also you may need to tell the power commander what sort of shifter you have. Go to inputs in the PCV software to do this. If all that is ok then it's most likely down to the type of QEM. You can test the shifter by wiring it directly into terminals 1-2 on the power commander. Remember to set terminals 1-2 in the software to your quickshifter. Now with the bike on a paddock stand running and in 2nd gear rev her to around 5000 rpm. clutch in and back brake on. Change gear but hold the revs at 5000. You should hear a very brief drop in revs. That tells you the shifter us ok. Now if your shifter is an older PCV normally closed and your QEM is a newer requiring a normally open you can use a PC3 USB shifter, a 4-102. Simply cut off the white plug. All this sounds really complicated but take your time and if needs be ring me. 07921 849 076
