i have just sourced a gearbox from usa. paid for the item and shipping in full. my mate says i might get stung for import tax. is that true? if i do, how will i know how much to pay and when? any ideas on the ammount if so. thanx. im now having sleepless nights expecting another sting in the tail to my finances
You'll receive a call/letter/email IF it ends up at customs and you'll have to pay before its released. I think it's 20% of the cost but I might be wrong.

Must admit i've always had to pay duty and VAT and handling charges with packages from USA but other parts of the world mostly have been ok
