I was Bidding on some 504z Mondeo Injectors for the BIL today I put in the BIL top Bid with seconds to go but it was Outbid by £30. no probs lost that one. But a hour later received a Emil from the seller saying he would sell them for £10 more than I bid Now am I wrong or does that smack to me that his mates big to increase the amount then he lost it as his mates had bid more than I put in on Ebay if thats makes sense? I was going to reply to the email with "what about the higher Bidder"
If he hasn't hidden the bidders identity by making it a private auction then checkout the other bidder, such as if his location is the same as the sellers, or if he has won any of the sellers items before or if they have exchanged feedback at any point. Failing that, decide what you want to pay, and if its your top bid price then ask him to make a second chance offer for your bid price.
it is against ebay rules to offer to sell at a higher bid . if they are giving you a second chance offer it must be at the highest priced bid that you put in ...not anybody else . have they emailed you through ebay , or have they emailed you directly ? if it is out of ebay ,that is also not allowed and probably a scam.
Through eBay but I've contacted eBay about it. The seller had 100% and 170 sold times. Seems rather dodgy and not going to buy the item now. Found the same ( well the BIL) has at 1/3 of the price so bought them. I was going to reply with something like Many thanks for the offer but it was a god send I lost the bid as I found other injectors for a 1/3 of the price or such like
Maybe worth sending him a message that youre not interested because what he did looked dodgy. It may make him think next time?
Anyone got a idea how to contact Ebay without having to give a generic report? I just want to tell them what happened and how it seems he's just getting mates to bump up the price. it may not sell then contact the highest bigger to pay the max price
i would put a question in the ebay community section at the top of the ebay page .. someone will know what to do.
