Weird one this. I bought an item from China around 6 months ago which never arrived, so I contact the seller after a month asking for a refund and he gives me the run around constantly asking me to wait. Eventually I lose patients and threaten to make a claim through ebay, at which point he appears to back down and sends me a manual payment via PayPal. It seemed strange at the time that he didn't just refund the original payment as he would have taken a hit for the money I had paid him and I lost a quid or so on the money he sent me, but TBH I was just happy to get my money back. So all is good right.............................. wrong!!! 4 months later I receive an email from PayPal telling me that the money he sent me is on hold (i.e. they have withdrawn it from my account) on the grounds that the buyer has not received the item. Now hold on a minute, his payment was a refund for the item that I didn't receive from him!!! I thought at that point I was being scammed so I found that I could put a claim in for my original payment to him 6 months prior. I followed this up with many emails & ebay messages to him reminding him that his payment to me was a refund. Well guess what... He didn't respond to me, but responded to PayPal in an attempt to win both cases so he could keep both payments and probably the item that he never even sent out. Fortunately for me PayPal accepted my claim for the money I sent him, but not the money he sent me, which is ok as I'm back where I started with my original payment refunded. End result is that this Chinese seller tried to rip me off with a very unsuspecting scam, but didn't expect me to (or think I could) put a claim in for my original 6 month old payment, or PayPal to accept that he was trying to recind on his refund. Other than that you still gotta love eBay for selling your old tat. I listed the wifes bicycle and an rather expensive DSLR camera mount this morning, both of which have sold on Best Offers this afternoon, so I'm over £100 up today already
Ye I get a real laugh watching people buy second had stuff like helmets for more money than they are brand new lol.
