Not worth doing on a euro-spec bike, would make more sense getting it done on a U.S spec one as those are restricted.
Anyone know if it's possible to remove the "Top Gear" restictor so she'll go past 186mph?.I remember fitting a "Trei" to the Busa which allowed top gear to rev out thus top speed went past the restricted 186 mph.
Wanted to remove the top gear restictor on my 06 blade but could not find any info . Think you may have to change the ecu maybe ?
I have no experience with the above but if it is mapping teh original ECU from what I have read it's a cheap and very good way to get better performance and almost as good if not better than using a PC
I didnt know they had a top gear restrictor but if they have Hrc ecu I think is the only way you can use original loom but shift a few wires around .
looking at it logically I would guess the restriction takes place at the dash, and the information is then transmited to the ecu .when I was messing around with gearing I could get 186 at different revs.
I heard that there is no restriction so to say and the speedo stops but the revs continue slightly more, if this is true then changing the gearing and and fitting a gps will give you the proper answer. I know the 04-07 models speedo was out by about 15mph at top speed
right quick message to a tech mate about the production class landspeed cbr1000rr , seem production is very misleading.they have to keep all fairings mudguards standard but as for electronics they can mod them as long as they keep the standard loom. he said they use units like this EFI Technology - Engine Control Systems - 1.9 ECU
my 954 clocks would stop at 299klm but the revs would keep pulling into the red, -1+2 gearing, havnt maxed out the 1000rr yet!!
O I read this wrong the clocks do stop at 186 but the speed does not it will still climb till rev limiter
