Ha, oops, that was before the pint too!

Well, having a false ceiling put in and putting in spots instead of the standard single fitment in there at the moment (bulb, not strip).

I will be putting in 10 spots, but want to know, do I need a transformer or anything for them, or do I just wire them in parallel from the existing lighing point?

Well it all depends what size lamps you will be using and how many other lights are on the existing circuit......eg...50W lamps will be 500watt load i would be careful just sticking in willy nilly 10 more fittings....we use 3watt led bulbs so at only 30Watt would probably be less than original lamp ?
Transformer might be required if you use 12volt fittings ?......sounds like you need a Sparky !! hence the reason for Part P requirements !!!!!!!!!!!!!! to prevent DIY disasters !!!!!!! :D

I'll be using LEDs, so it all depends on the voltage of the bulb then as to wether I need a transformer?

No..... some are in the form of a GU10 style of lamp and dont need transformers....... generally its Drivers not transformers used to power LEDs but personally i would go for the GU 10 style of lamp...... as all bits are built into lamp....

If you let Blaggers near your wiring you wouldn't need them.

I do Commercial work mostly (clues in the username) but have been known to dabble in Domestics under duress from friends & family.

JCC LED 7's are by far the best IMHO, got em in our gaff, along with a fully addressable Fire Alarm system!

    JCC

    :D
