As most of you fellas know I only picked up my first Blade RR6 weeks ago. So the bike came with a Micron No baffles, nowt. I'm not 100% I like it,sounds nice and drivers know I'm behind and move but on the old MOT's its had advisory's loud exhaust. That don't bother me neither nor my MOT man. I'm don't know if it is causing fuelling issues low down,is this known?... So can any of you lot advise on a end can, looking for input on design, sound, quality and a dealer. Also what gearing are you running on rear and front, ain't bothered doing 160+. Cheers Lee
My advice is get rid and get a decent can with a baffle in .For me a new can is mainly for looks and style over the standard ,from a noise p.o.v. In my opinion making all that racket through villages and attracting cops for miles is unnecessary and is not cool!
just buy or make a baffle / db killer. i picked up a racefit growler for mine and it was way too noisy lol! so i made this out of an old piece of perforated tube and the metal covers off 2 pressure gauges. fitted in the can it looks like it's sposed to be there on the bike - looks and sounds great (imo) th baffle reduces it to an acceptable burble when pootling along at low throttle openings but when i give it some it comes alive and snarls like an angry T rex i got the exhaust cheap cos it was too loud, but its spot on now
my sp1 had twin microns on and sounded awesome but obviously not to the taste off the heddlu. twice i got a warning - and one fixed penalty, which i forgot to pay so it ended up costing me £60 :/ i did try to blag him that it was baffled at the link pipe end but he wasnt that dim. and also pointed out that on microns, it is stamped 'NOT FOR ROAD USE' under the outlet pipe. get on ebay and buy a universal db killer, that'll tame it enough to keep plod off your back. last time i got knocked off (in november), the taxi waanker said he didnt see me - or hear me. which is bizarre seeing as i was right at the side of him with unbaffled akros, but that's my justification for next time i get stopped. from personal experience, i'd rather get a paltry fixed penalty than end up down the road with a bent bike. again. there is a difference between whats loud and whats unacceptable imo... i wear earplugs all the time on the bike and my sp2 was still deafening me... it's nice to have a sporty sounding can but not if it's annoying you every time you ride it!
As above don't think it will be long before it's annoys me more so,on the other hand drivers seem to move for me more so than any other bike i've rode, I'll have a look for a db killer. cheers Lee
