End can

    I can imagine this as been asked lots of times but thinking of changing the can on my 05 what do the cables do and do I need them as the mtc can I'm looking at just has a plain link pipe
    Any help will be great

    The cables operate the exhaust valve on the original exhaust... designed to close to increase back-pressure at low RPM, then open (around 5000rpm I think) to let the engine breath.
    You can simply disconnect them from the exhaust, and from the servo motor under the seat, and all will be fine.

    Word of warning though... if it's anything like my bike, you will end up with a flat spot that ends with a "kick" of thrust at around 5000rpm where the ECU is fuelling expecting the exhaust valve to be in place. Can only be cured with a Power Commander and a decent map.
