    Hi guys
I'm hoping someone may have the answer to my problem.......
If I might explain. I run a 918 Fireblade on carbs in my race-car, A light weight Fiber-glass Hillman imp. My problem is this :- Start of the race, lights come on..... Revs build up, lights go out, dump the clutch and ........ NOTHING. Dip the clutch, get rolling and once up to about 2 miles an hour, floor it and it goes like stink! I've tried every combination of revs and clutch feed-in I can think of , but they all seem to give the same results..... nothing, nothing nothing....... WOW this is FUN!!
Now as we all know, a Fireblade is no slouch off the line, and when I raced with a highly tuned Imp engine, (though not as powerful as a blade) it was without doubt the fastest thing off the line in mine or for that matter any class. So, my question is this: Is it me, or is there something I'm missing on the blade engine?
The engine is in fine fettle, Running a 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust, with a Scorpion can. I've got two sets of carbs, one standard, and the other dyno-jetted, running through a modified air box and 2 huge K&N filters, both give very similar results, though the Dyno-jets do seem to give better acceleration off the corners.
It's really getting to be annoying as in all races, the start is vitally important, it's hard work making up the places lost off that start line, Also, other blade engined cars don't seem to have the same launch problems.
Any advice, or clues as to where to start would be appreciated.
    Cheers guys.
