Because when I was travelling to work this morning going past a bus stop some snotty nosed git faced spotty 13-ish year old son-of-a-bitch actually took the time to gesticulate with his hand a rather rude up & down gesture at me... !!!! Now traffic was fairly heavy but I did think about turning round and kicking the shit out of him then running over his corpse.. bloody checky fecker!! Also goes without saying that I didn't know this reprobate so it wasn't a 'friendly bit of banter' it wasn't in the middle of Aldershot-grad so it was a reasonable area too. So, this got me thinking, when I was a kid, my bedroom wall was a sea of Motorcycle pictures, mostly of the 'new' Gilera moped which was faster than a FS1E and I absolutely ached for it, along with lots of other bike posters and the holy grail ... a Suzuki GT750 kettle ... 'Oh yes, she will be mine' !! and of course the odd sticky Blondie poster...but let's not go there. So if I was this lad and I saw the equivalant of my bike back in the day on the road - I would be swooning in admiration. Now i'm not upset (well, just a bit) that this kid didn't like my HRC blade with gold powdercoated wheels and my rather hard looking blue iridescent visor but what makes these kids tick these days?? Just what posters do they have on their walls? I have come up with three conclusions 1. Martin Owen put him up to it. 2. The kid is gay and has just been dumped. 3. The world is changing and I can't keep up with it. Please, let it not be No.3 !! (Think I might just sulk & pout for the rest of the day)
Maybe it was all three........or possibly Martin dressed in a school uniform lying in wait for you on your daily commute. I think I may have been inclined to have a quiet word with the little fella to point out the error of his ways
I've had the same, but from a grown man! He wasn't gesticulating about my riding, as I was pootling. My conclusion is that you need to add another option: 4. Person has an inferiority complex, thinks you think you're better than him and are purposely flaunting your flashy motorbike in his face to make him feel bad about the poor state of his life, and therefore person elects to bring you down a peg or 2 with a well-aimed hand gesture. Or, maybe I should give up on amateur psychology!!!
