I would like to do the exhaust flap mod on my 2012 abs bike but after checking out a couple of youtube vids I am a little confused.The three screws you are supposed to remove are not in the right place on my bike,there are two which appear in the right place but the only other screws I can find are on either side of the plastic cover,I haven't tried taking the screws out as the cover also has the abs gubbins in it and I don't want to f'#/k things up,has anyone else done the mod on an abs bike? Yep, me done it! Dead simple, just remove the screws holding the mat black plastic cover under the rear subframe just above the rear shock. You'll then find a little light brown plastic wheel with what looks like a Bicycle Brake Cable attached to it with a crimped 'Barrel' head on the cable end. Make a note of where the Wheel is sat in it's stationary position then turn it by hand clockwise enough so you can un-hook the cable from this wheel. At this point you'll see the Flap in the exhaust open up fully and stay open as it's on a spring. Leave the cable in a Tidy state and then manually turn the Wheel back to where it was, otherwise you'll throw a fault code. Put cover back on and Bob's ya Aunty!
Great,sounds like even I can do that,was it two or three screws can you remember?The vids say there are three but I can only see two?
