Hi, picked a 2004 fireblade up today, runs great except for the Fi mil coming on at 8,000 or so revs, and only then, and then going off just Turing the engine off and restarting. Bike runs perfectly even after the light comes on.

mil code is 35 which I believe means it’s the exhaust valve or servo.

however I cannot for the life of me find it, it might of course have been removed, but then the connector must be there with a servo buddy or similar at least.

mall the pictures and videos I can find show the servo motor under the drivers seat, but I have also read that the 04&05 had them elsewhere, and there is no space for mine under the seat anyway.

    many help very much appreciated.

Solved part of it, no servo motor there, just cables cable tied out of the way, so where is the connector for it!

Now solved all of it, found the servo and it would only rotate 45 degrees as the cables were tied up under the exhaust shield and too tight so wouldn’t move to full open, which is why it only happened at high revs. Completely removed the cables, servo moves freely and no more mil light.
