I'm planning a route for Saturday and the best route takes me from the M1 down the A43 past Silverstone. Thing is that it is the British Grand Prix on the weekend and I know that Silverstone historically is a mare for traffic. Does anyone know if it impacts the A43, and am I best finding another route?

I think you ll find it impacts all routes.......not as bad on the sat..............went some years ago and was caught up in a fiasco of cockups with traffic routes getting out.....

Cheers. Will drop down the M40 instead, longer journey but hopefully far enough away from Silverstone.

Not done a F1 race yet but intend to soon but not Silverstone. The wife's going to take me away for a long weekend to a euro round in a fee years for a big birthday of mine. well thats what I have asked for when she asked me

Re traffic your buggered anyway you go if it's anything like Moto GP so all I can suggest is leave early. It's 2 hours from me and I left at 6Am when I went to the Moto GP so was not bad when I got there with the wife and kids

Not going to the F1, just want to avoid the traffic ;)

Guessing I would be around the area about 10:45 - 11:15.

Well luckily I avoided the A43 they closed it to through traffic to/from the A1. That's one stored for future travel.
