I've just about finished fitting my Akro system, she sounds awsome cant wait to hear her at full chat!!

Anyway the new system just touches the belly pan on the left side of the bike about 4" back from the front of the fairing. there is a scoop/cut-out there already but in the wrong place for the new system.
Has anyone got any good tips for either cutting the fairing or heating it up and easing it out a bit so it doesn't melt against the pipes?

I thought about wrapping some of that fibre wrap around the pipe and getting it hot and see if it would form to the shape of the pipe but not melt.

Any hints or tips would be very useful..

    Cheers Ozz

Have you guy a pic we can see mate , just to get a better idea of what's happening

I'm surprised the pipe is contacting the pan , these pipes are extremely well designed and iv never heard if that problem before

Like Dan says. These pipes are properly designed to suit the bike and I'd be surprised if you had to do anything anywhere near as drastic as that.

It's not touching by much but just worried that it might melt the belly fairing.. I hope the pictures below show it. The pipe touches to the back (right of the picture) of the scoop. A mill or 2 would fix it.. what do you think?

Exactly where mine melted, doesn't worry me and only where it touched it didn't spread.

You can use a bit of thermotec mate… protects plastics and really shields it from the heat good style.

Thermo-Tec : Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier

I've used it on the inside of my carbon bellypan, it does the trick… around £20 iirc.

Cheers Si MrB I'm glad it's not just me... I might invest in some of that heat shield that hopefully will do the trick.

To be honest the amount it melted really wasn't worth bothering about, for me anyway. I figured I'd just get another belly pan if need be.

Just got and fitted my sticky heat shield today, maybe over kill looking at your belly pan MrB but it's all done now...
got the shield from Demon tweaks they gave me 4 quid off and free delivery off a 18.99 sheet thought that was quite good!
