Was leaving work this afternoon on the blade and it was pissing down, had to go into town to pick up some oil so I was queuing in a bit of traffic whilst the rain slowly trickled down my tank and through my leathers... Got to a set of traffic lights with a straight on or right turn, only one lane but enough room in the road to make 2 queues. So I start filtering past a few cars on the left hand side to go straight on when some BITCH in a hatchback spots me in here mirrors and decides that even though she has plenty of time to let me through she'll pull right over to the left and not let me pass. Massive gap in-front of her now where I could have been and on my merry way (lights were green). So I bite my tongue and let her have her minute of enjoying holding up a biker, get to the traffic lights and they go red, I go to filter round to the front where the pushbikes sit to get past her, she pulls over to the right now. ARRGGHHH!!! Lights go green and she stays as far to the right hand side as possible smirking in her wing mirror at me for the next 200 yards down the road. WHAT IS THE NEED??? Anyway I finally got past after she made a few more attempts swerving at me to not let me past. Why do some people have such a hatred for bikers? She was only young as well. This time I decided to be the bigger person and just filter past and even gave her a thankyou wave. Was soooo close to taking her fcuking wingmirror off.
I didn't wanna give her a reason to hate us even more and probably do it again to some poor sod on a bike. Sometimes being kind and keeping calm can change peoples views more than giving them the reaction they want!
You may laugh but I think that, even in cars, people deliberately try to place their car in your way so that you can't overtake them / get past. I actually drive in such a way to make people think I want to be in the opposite lane to the one I actually want to be in. Most of the time they'll try to block but end up opening up the gap that you actually want.
Would love to think you are right Tyke but in my experience I doubt it. People like that do not have the normal thought processes that most of us have. She will be more than likely boasting about it to her mates and go even further next time in an attempt to get a reaction from the next unfortunate biker. Lets hope she does not kill or injure someone with her stupidity. People like that seldom change their minds and become decent, they carry on getting more and more adventurous as they get away with it. Until someone takes them to task or until they cause an accident. Pity the establishment does not deal with these people, but small number plates are far more important.
It's amazing how some people are totally unaware of their surroundings and are completely absorbed in the bubble of their four wheels and what's out of their front windowscreen. Obviously not the case with this young girl but certainly showing a lack of maturity, I can't understand for the life of me why anybody would contemplate thinking they would want to try and hold a bike up. I know how tempting it can be, but congrats on leaving the wing mirror on the car !!
She just fancied you mate and was hoping you said something, a way of introduction. Lets face it, leathers, bike, she's bound to have.
Haha dave!!! She'd of fancied me even more if I'd of leaped through the window and cock slapped the slut.
You would have been well within your rights to have taken her number and reported her for attempted assault or at leat dangerous driving! Filtering is legal and if another road user aims there car at you it is attempted assault. Perhaps one of our boys in blue members could confirm this?
Many moons ago on my first Blade I had a bunch of Spotty Yoths pulled out on me on an A road whilst they were feckin about with their Stereo or something in a 'souped up' go faster Golf GTi The driver realised his fek up and stopped his car with the nose just touching the central white line thus blocking my lane completly then just smirked as I anchored on. ' I had loads of time to stop without hitting him but thought Fuck U ya little wanker so adjusted my 'Emergency braking' so my front wheel hit his drivers door square on in the middle at about 4-5mph thus causing max damage to his door but fek all to my bike! He soon changed his expression and shat him self. I let him off with no insurance claim or reports to the rozzers but left him needing a new door skin at the very least. Rightly or wrongly he'll remember that and hopefully learnt from it.
If it had been dry I should have just popped the front up and kindly dropped it down on her back window lol. Top tip for next time though mate!!
your a better man than me fella! i get this sort of thing every morning without fail and have lost all restraint now, well done for reacting in the right manner
Feel your frustration mate. It was a BMW X5 on the M1 last week that saw me filtering up the middle when the traffic was doing barely 5mph,he pulled out right to the white line, thankfully mr white van man had seen me too and done the opposite so had room to manoeuvre, makes your blood boil
this is why I keep my helmet cam on all the time in traffic.then you can hand the footage to the police to show her dangerous actions or share it online to show what a tw@ she is.
