Been taking the hairpin in 2nd then up to 3rd for Hamilton then into 4th before back 2 for ago's, I'm on a 1000rr6 and noticed on YouTube Mr Crutchlow is in 1st for the hairpin and takes Hamilton in 2nd, got my 2nd full day there tomorrow (28th) done 1 day and 1 eve so far and I'm currently lapping at 2:17, next target 2:10

Question is what gear do you take these bends in and do you have standard gearing ?

P.s sort of think cal may be right about 1st gear hairpin he's none too slow :D

I squeezed a 2:10 and I stay in 2nd for all the short corners and fire up to the top of rev range before turning in. They all have race bikes and track tyres and I find 1st a bit brutal on the throttle unless you can be calm which I can't! I don't think my road tyres would go much under 2:10 as they don't have the side grip for pushing the fast corners. Turn in to the first right at 110+ then power it out, that's the best bit and also doing 100+ around coram with you knee down is great fun! ;)

Hi Navvy, best I could do was 2:16 on sunday, followed Dan Helyer out of pit lane but he lost me by the time we got to the hairpin, gr8 lad shared a garage with him, also in garage were Ben Campion and his brother Danny, Danny has lost his right leg and has no use of his right arm and was bloody quick, nothings gonna stop him riding a bike, he's back racing this year and only had accident last september!!! I felt humbled

That looks pretty healthy to me mate! I find keeping your chest lower closer to the tank really makes a difference in corners
