Just wasted a full morning sat in a classroom while some muppet waffled on, mostly bullsh@t. Speed awareness course they called it. Total crap. I'll just take the points next time. I actually, for one fleeting second thought it might be even a little bit interesting. Nope.

A condescending talking to is just for a morning, a point is for five years.

kpone has got a very good point mate, a speed awareness course is a short amount of boredom compared to higher insurance etc..

It doesn't always follow that taking the course is the best option - apart from the risk of accumulating points in the future, being self-employed a speed awareness course would cost me more money than any possible insurance premium hike, which is going to be minimal as you only get an offer of doing the course if you've got zero points currently (unless the rules have changed?).

Also the money gained by you paying for the course goes to speed camera funding which will eventually screw us all when they fill all A-roads with rear-facing SPECS cameras. :(

The course might help in the short term by delaying the effects of any future points, but I'll take the 3 points over the course any day, ta.
