booked a day off work end of August for a full day out somewhere. Thinking about wales but probably have to be north wales as have to do it in a day and we are from Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Anyone recommend anywhere to go thats good. I've said to him about going over cat and fiddle, ponderosa cafe and around bala lakes as did it years and years ago and seem to remember it being good. Not really done lots in Wales though so open to suggestions. Also are police as bad as people say ?
Hi mate, you've got it covered there pretty much. My favourite loop round N.Wales is to ride to Llynclys then get on the B4396 and ride it to Penybontfawr, then it turns into B4391 and ride that all the way over the Miltir Cerrig to Bala. At Bala pick up the A4212 to Capel Celyn then take a right onto the B4391 and ride this road to Ffestiniog and loop it back to Trawsfynydd and back towards Bala. Ponderosa is a nice cafe and the road is OK, but i do see a copper up on the Llangollen side from time to time. On the Llandegla side its all 50mph average speed cameras now. I never have trouble with camera vans, there are few now and again on a week day but they're easy to spot.
