Hi Everyone, Had my blade a few years now never any problems till... Replaced plugs, air filter, oil and oil filter and now its running for 20sec then cutting out. Fuel pump sounds ok, no mil light everything seems ok There where some stored error codes 32 and 34 not sure what these are or if they are any relevance. So where to start, should it be fuel system or ignition system. maintenance manual down loaded and ready to go diagnostic with the DVM Even had a weird thought that the ECU could be knackered. I will say when it does run for the first 20 secs it doesn't sound too bad. Any help will be much appreciated as im stumped as what to do first cheers
Could it be that something has not been reconnected correctly? ...or connector not plugged back in? ...or kinked fuel line? I would start by re-tracing my steps if it were me, particularly when you infer that all was fine until this maintenance work was carried out.
Sounds similar to a problem I had a while ago on my Aprilia RSV1000, turned out to be the stator that was fried and wasn't generating enough juice to charge the battery! A common problem with Aprilia's that though, but I think earlier blades suffered the same!
I would also look at kinked fuel line, tank breather plumbing. For the benefit of potential helpers, was the bike running normally before with the erro codes? confirm the problem appeared after you did the maintenance
The bike ran fine before service. When carefully put back together at first start I let it idle for 10mins seemed fine. A couple of days later to check the oil level I let it idle for awhile and noticed after about 20secs it completely didn't fire on one cycle but had enough motion to not stall. I knew it was very low on fuel so left it a day or so then went to the petrol station, It was like riding a kicking donkey with very bad engine breaking. Through a tenner in still the same, just about got it home. One thing that I should not have touched when doing the service was the crank position sensor that sits in between the two centre spark plugs. I accidentally pulled it out of its housing. its a small hall effect magnetic sensor, anyway replaced back in the slot / guide that in the housing. I haven checked the voltages and connections on this as it doesn't look damaged. I will check charging and fuel hoses next
