I was going to add a new lead for my optimate... But discovered I don't know how to get the seat off... It doesn't come off like my 600RR did... WTF are the bolts holding it on?

Remove the infills under the seat and undo the bolts.

You need to pull the 2 side pods off each side just under the seat, they just unclip, there there's a screw each side to undo and hey presto!

2 screws are behind the painted infil panels under the seat edges. Pull the infils outwards ( they are attached at the front to the tank shelter so don't tug too hard) 2 Philip head screws will see the seat free

Edited to add-that's the 3rd response then, must type quicker!

After the winter I went to take my seat off to charge my battery, and one of the screws wouldn't come out.
Had to end up drilling it out.
Cost me £1.60 for another screw to replace it.

Is it only me that has problems getting one side screw in, as you push in to the screw (gently) the stupid metal nut in the plastic seat just moves.
stopping the bugger biting and doing it up.
    sooooo annoying?
