I have seen the black and burgandy bikes go for as low as £5k with about 6,000 miles on, but there is a nice one on Pistonheads now with about those miles but its a private sale and he is asking £6k, there are a few being sold by traders on autotrader etc and they are selling for £6k with again low miles....... just how cheeky is too cheeky for an offer

Thought so, so a private seller asking for £200 more than that will slightly more miles is too much, i thought about the £5,000 mark ?

If you don't ask, you don't get. Never assume anything in a negotiation. Start £500 below what you want to pay and be willing to walk away - they'll always be another bike. A cold, dark rainy Sunday in January will alway guarantee a deal at a dealership. If you buy private, stump up the extra for an independent opinion, and call the dealer for the history.

It was on eBay I watch them all the time and the gsxr1000's a K9. 2010 plate with 3000 miles on it went for £5800 the other day it was mint.

Bargains to be had at the moment but I study the Market every day!!!

    Thanks Ben

I'll need to keep an eye out for him then. He's after a 08 Blade now. He was thinking of getting the 07 but at that price he's been swayed towards the 08.

2008 models have a stigma attached because of the oil thing.

Plus the arse has dropped out of the used bike market, and the 08-11 model is only going to get cheaper now its been supersceeded as the current model.

A mate of mine in a Honda dealership reckons to be looking at 4300 bottom book for a low mileage 08 next year.

I was wathcing that Gixxer, that was a really nice price and just makes the other bikes more difficult to sell as buyers like us can watch the market and know what they have been going for.

With all these bikes its the right place, right time..... there are lots of bikes that are selling (well offering prices) for more than some dealers are selling the same bike with the same miles, some private sellers are just not in touch with the market, i have asked a couple recently if they would accept an offer on the asking prices....its like i have just hit their aged and beloved grandmother in the face !!! Not a penny less, and one of them was asking about £1000 over what it should have been advertised at.... needless to say its still for sale and will be until he removes it from sale.
