OK I would love to go to Canada next year for a family holiday. The wife also want's to go but wondering where is best to go

Would be going with my well traveled 7 and 10yo girls in toe.

So suggestions on a post card please. Where would be a ideal base to stay.

We would like to travel around a bit, not too much due to the kids. as I said have a base or 2. see the sights, shopping, entertainment etc..

Whats worth seeing and where would it be ideal to take a family who have never been before

    cheers

    Matt

I've always fancied the trans Canadian Railway with the glass roofed cars. Cover a lot of distance with little hassle still get to see the scenery. Not a massive amount for the kids, I know, but compared with being stuck in a car or a plane with them, heaven I'd have thought.

Dunno if it's the sort of thing you're in to, Remal, but I always felt that my ultimate holiday would be going to Canada and doing one of those canoeing and camping tours where you paddle the rivers and lakes and camp by the side of the river :)

I know there are companies that organise these things. Not white water, you understand. Just paddling.

Might be a bit boring for young lasses though. Not sure. I'm not very au fait with what kids enjoy / are capable of :D

From what I know, Vancouver's supposed to be an amazing place. That would also put you in the sort of region where the best canoeing scenery would probably be found. I think you can do varying lengths of trip. Like just a few days if that's what you fancy :)
