Did just under 400 miles this weekend on it - was good trip and so easy to get a lick on with it - Does like its fuel - Gixer 750 took £16 where this took £23 (both had been filled at same spot and then re-filled after same distance. Averaged 34.5mpg - range from a brimmed tank 130, normal fill up about 110 to light. Mates road it - verdict 'Its absolutely mental - I've never ridden anything so flipping fast' Luggage is an issue, it rides so differently from the Blade - takes some getting used to esp in town / traffic - its very viby, and quite harsh off the throttle.
Jimmy, its got the M1 engine, same basic design as the Yamaha bikes running in MotoGP - ok loads of other differences too but essentially motor is unique in market place.
nice ride.still want to get a run on one to try it out myself. fuel doesnt sound too bad,I wanted to see how much mine uses for sure so been checking it closely and im getting 27mpg on ride outs and 36+ when out for a cruise.
Looks good Al, nice to see you getting out on her. A 400 mile weekend ride for you ? You sure you aint missed a 0 off somewhere
this is true, I have stickers so i must have a Moto GP bike too.. I had a 14B for two years but no stickers
What did you not like ? I can see in the congested South East it would be a pig - on open flowing roads where you can wind it on a bit it changes character totally
As Danny Dyer would say thats a 'pwopa marmite bike' that is. I have two friends with 09 onwards bikes and they love them. I know of others who have loathed them with a passion. I'd love a go on one. I love the look of them, even the back end. And the sound, especially with aftermarket zorsts...
Was funny following my mate on his K6 Gixer 750 (standard zorst but superb sound) with my R1 in front ridden by superbly quick rider and I could hear exactly what he was up to on - his 'That is the fastest thing I have ever ridden without a doubt, no question' - He's got a shout on an unmarked S1000rr next week to compare it to...
