Me blade had it's first service over the weekend. Bearing in mind a first service is really only new oil, oil filter & check bolts etc, I couldn't believe how different she rides. It's only 8-9 miles away to the garage i use & it was drizzling, so didn't give it a real blast. But she felt smoother, smooth acceleration (gives more confidence to twist the throttle), smoother gear change etc. Really surprised. For what its worth the oil used was Silkolene Comp 4 (an Ester fully synthetic oil).

The oil they replace isnt as thin as the stuff they have took out, so lubricates the parts well n keep them coated so hence y everything just feels lovely n smooth, just how they shud be :)

I knew the theory, but didn't expect such a dramatic difference ;)

They adjusted your chain........I doubt you'd notice the different oil, even if it wasnt raining.

As just_me quoted - the oil used when the bike is new is much thinner. So replacing the oil would & did make a difference IMO. However, I doubt whether it's Silkoline, Castrol etc etc would make a great of difference.

I'd be amazed if Marq Marquez could tell if there was different oil in his bike screaming around a track, let alone pootling back from the dealer in the rain.

Each to their own though. ;)
