I know its not much hassle fitting a chain with a chain riveter but how about without one ? Normally take the bike to someone but this is for the track bike so .......
I did one on my zx6r using a G clamp. I just cut the screw end of the clamp of and used a grinder to turn it in to a pin head to open out the rivet heads.
easy enough, push plate on,peen over the rivets with a little lump hammer, just be carefull. but,i would (for £40) buy a chain tool.if your getting into track bikes(or into them already) you'll be changing your chain a bit more often so pays for itself in time.
I purchased the right kit for next to nothing from eBay, don't pay someone else the same price as the equipment you will then have for the future.
Thats the one i got too and did the the job no probs, just take your time and don't over peen the rivet heads, or you'll end up with an over tight spot. then you'll need this place........ Spare Chain Links @ moto-racing.co.uk
Demon tweeks do a nice selcetion and I was going to order a heavy duty one as I heard nightmares about some cheaper ones not lasting long I have no replaced a chain before but with the rights tools it's not a long job
