After servicing and fettling my RR-6 all winter I noticed a damp patch on my LH fork lower which looks to be a leaking seal.

I've whipped the forks out and am just deliberating what to do.

Is a seal / oil change handy enough to do? I think a full fork overhaul is just a little outside of my comfort zone.

Would it be worth having a fork overhaul done professionally?

I plan on doing some track days but don't want to push the boat out too far in terms of spending.

The bike has relatively low miles (~12K).

The rear shock seems ok but it may be worthwhile getting it serviced whilst the forks are being done.

    Thoughts?

I the forks on my R6 recently and it was easier than I thought it would be. You just need to make sure you have the right tools, for compressing the shock (ratchet straps) and for taking apart the spacer etc to strip them.

I can do most jobs but don't have the cartridge tool.

I had MCT do mine last year. £125 I think including seals and oil. Took them a week and included return postage I think.

I have a Dave Moss video I can link you too that shows an actual RR6 fork being taken apart :)

    Many thanks guys.

I ended up taking the forks to Honda for them to do it.

Wasn't overly expensive to be fair. ~£120.
